Dieser Distilled / Dry Gin Gin gehört mit zu den preiswerteren seiner Kategorie und man bekommt ihn sowohl im lokalen Handel, wie auch online. Mit einem Preis von ca. 12 EUR für 0,5L auf jeden Fall einen Test wert.

Hergestellt wird dieser Gin von der Bimmerle KG mit Sitz in Achern im Schwarzwald, die einer der Markführer im Bereich der Obstbrände ist.

Das Design der Flasche erinnert an eine Art Apothekerflasche und liegt angenehm in der Hand. Insgesamt eher schlicht gehalten passt es aber gut zum Konzept des Gins und wirkt modern.

Besonders der Preis ist bei diesem Gin sehr interessant, da er mit ca. 12 EUR je halben Liter wirklich preiswert ist. Andere, vergleichbare Gins, liegen hier locker bei der doppelten Summe.

Folgende Botanicals kommen bei diesem Gin unter anderem zum Einsatz:

  • Wacholder
  • Fichtennadeln
  • Zitrone & Orange
  • Piment
  • Lavendel
  • Zimt

Beim Öffnen der Flasche strömt einem ein angenehm würziger und frischer Duft in die Nase, was mir auf jeden Fall sehr gut gefällt. Klar kann man hier den Duft der Fichtennadeln erkennen und erfährt so einen Hauch den typischen Waldduft. Die verwendeten Botanicals Zitrone und Orange verleihen ihm zusätzlich einen leicht frischen Duft und Geschmack.
Die übrigen Aromen halten sich eher im Hintergrund, abgesehen vom Wacholder. Dieser ist durchaus angenehm ausgeprägt zu schmecken.
Insgesamt würde ich diesen Gin als leicht fruchtig-würzig bezeichnen – die würzigen Anteile kommen wohl von den verwendeten Botanicals Ingwer, Piment und natürlich den Fichtennadeln.

Ich kombiniere diesen Gin auf jeden Fall mit neutralen Tonic Watern, um die Aromen von Fichtennadel, Zitrus und der anderen Gewürze nicht zu sehr zu überdecken. Passend finde ich hier zum Beispiel das Schweppes Indian Tonic Water oder auch das von Thomas Henry.

Alternativ, für diejenigen, die es aromatisiert mögen, kann man natürlich auch zu einem entsprechenden Tonic Water greifen, wie etwa dem Fentimans Valencian Orange Tonic Water

MEIN FAZIT ZU DIESEM GIN

Gemessen am günstigen Preis überzeugt mich der Geschmack des Gins – gerade mit einem neutralen Tonic Water – voll und ganz. Bodenständig, würzig und lecker!
