Diesen Gin habe ich im Supermarkt im Urlaub in Belgien gekauft.
Er ist mir bereits in meinem „Gin Ratgeber“ Buch aufgefallen und im Geschäft dann nicht zuletzt wegen der optisch sehr ansprechenden und eleganten Flasche.

Hergestellt wird dieser Gin (unter Lizenz und der Originalrezeptur von Berry Bros. & Rudd (Großbritanien)) von de Kuyper in den Niederlanden. Die Flasche ist optisch sehr ansprechend gestaltet, da auf ihr ein Metall-Schlüssel mit einer „3“ angebracht ist. Die Flasche selber ist aus grünem Glas und sieht je nach Lichteinfall sehr schön aus. Er besteht aus 6 Botanicals (siehe Zutaten weiter unten), die perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt sind.
Alkoholgehalt: 46% vol.

Botanicals (laut Hersteller): Wacholderbeeren, Orangenschalen, Grapefruit, Angelika, Koriandersamen, Kardamom

Dieser Gin geht geschmacklich in die Richtung der zitrusartigen Gins, was unter anderem der Verwendung von Grapfruit und Orangenschalen geschuldet ist. Er duftet angenehm frisch und macht einfach Lust auf einen Gin&Tonic. Angenehm ist auch die Trockenheit dieses Gins, was perfekt zu einem guten Tonic Water passt.

Ich kombiniere diesen Gin gerne mit aromatisierten Tonic Waters, z.B. dem FEVER-TREE Clementine oder Thomas Henry Cherry Blossom

MEIN FAZIT ZU DIESEM GIN

Ein toller und spannender Gin, der durch Grapefruit und Orangenschalen in die Zitrus-Richtung geht, passt perfekt zu aromatisierten Tonics (aber natürlich auch zu neutralen Tonics).
