Ein weiterer Gin der den Weg in meine Sammlung geschafft hat ist der Roku Gin aus Japan. Nicht zuletzt aufgrund der optisch auffälligen Flasche habe ich ihn gekauft und einem Test unterzogen.

Mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 43% vol. liegt er hier im „normalen“ Bereich für Gin’s.

Roku bedeutet ins deutsche übersetzt „6“, so verwundert die Optik der Flasche dieses Gins nicht sonderlich: die Falsche kommt in elegantem 6-eckigen Design daher und sieht wirklich schön aus. Zusätzlich ist sie mit Ornamenten der verwendeten Botanicals (sechs japanische Botanicals Yuzu-Schale, Sakura-Blume, Sakura-Blätter, Sencha-Tee, Gyokuro-Tee und Sansho-Pfeffer) verziert und wirkt hierdurch noch ansprechender.

Dieser Gin hat mich in erster Linie durch seinen kräftigen Duft positiv überrascht. Gerade in einem Gin Tonic gefällt mir hier das wirklich dominante und kräftige Aroma dieses Gins sehr gut, was vermutlich auch an den verwendeten Botanicals liegen dürfte.

Ich würde diesen Gin als eher „würzig“ und „kräftig“ bezeichnen, der aber geschmacklich sehr lecker ist und mich vor allem im Gin Tonic absolut überzeugen kann.

Ich kombiniere diesen Gin gerne mit neutralen Tonic Waters, wie Schweppes Indian Tonic oder auch Thomas Henry.

MEIN FAZIT ZU DIESEM GIN

Wer es gerne etwas kräftiger mag, der sollte auf jeden Fall mal den Roku Gin aus Japan probieren – es lohnt sich wirklich! Ich trinke ihn besonders gern als Gin Tonic mit etwas mehr Gin im Mischungsverhältnis.

    Mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 41% vol. liegt er hier im „normalen“ Bereich für Gin’s.

    Die Flasche kommt in relativ schlichtem Design daher, auffällig sind die typischen Kreise in gelb um auf die Geschmacksnote Zitrone (con Limone) hinzuweisen. Dieses Design wird entsprechend des Aromas für den mittlerweile ebenfalls erhältlichen Orangen-Gin von MALFY mit orangenen Kreisen umgesetzt (näheres zu diesem Gin findet ihr hier).

    Der Verschluss ist liebevoll gestaltet und aus einer Kombination von echtem Korken, Holzanteilen und Gummi. Sieht optisch sehr ansprechend aus und verschließt die Flasche sicher und zuverlässig.

    Nach dem Öffnen strömt einem ein angenehm frischer und leicht zitroniger Duft entgegen, hier kann der MALFY Gin absolut überzeugen und hebt sich durch das Zitronenaroma von der breiten Masse ab. Gerade auch in Kombination mit einem guten Tonic Water ist der Zitronengeschmack herrlich und passt perfekt.

    Ich würde diesen Gin als eher „weich“ und „mild“ bezeichnen, der aber geschmacklich wirklich hervorragend ist und definitiv mit zu meinen Favoriten zählt!

    Neben Zitronenschalen kommen hier noch 5 weitere Botanicals zum Einsatz, die bei der Produktion genutzt werden.

    Ich kombiniere diesen Gin gerne mit neutralen Tonic Waters, z.B. dem Schweppes Indian tonic oder auch Thomas Henry. Aber auch FEVER-TREE Mediterran passt sehr gut zu diesem fruchtigen Gin.

    MEIN FAZIT ZU DIESEM GIN

    Ein etwas anderer Gin durch den deutlichen Zitronenanteil im Geschmack, aber genau das macht ihn auch so interessant und sorgt für ein kleines „Oh“ beim Trinker. Als Gin Tonic absolut zu empfehlen und richtig gut!

    Ein weiterer Gin der den Weg in meine Sammlung geschafft hat ist der MALFY con Arancia Gin aus Italien. Diesen habe ich, kurz nachdem ich den MALFY con Limone entdeckt hatte, durch zufälliges stöbern im Netz entdeckt.

    Die Flasche kommt in relativ schlichtem Design daher, auffällig sind die typischen Kreise, welche bei diesem Gin in orange sind um auf die Geschmacksnote Blutorange (con Arancia) hinzuweisen. Zusätzlich hat man bei dieser Sorte auch eine gefrostete Glasoptik der Flasche, was optisch nach mein eine Spur eleganter und „cooler“ aussieht, als der MALFY con Limone.
    Der Verschluss ist liebevoll gestaltet und aus einer Kombination von echtem Korken, Holzanteilen und Gummi. Sieht optisch sehr ansprechend aus und verschließt die Flasche sicher und zuverlässig.

    Beim Öffnen der Flasche merkt man schnell, dass man es hier mit keinen 08-15 Gin zu tun hat. Ein intensiv, frisch-fruchtiger Duft nach Blutorange kommt einem entgegen und macht wirklich Lust diesen Gin zu probieren. Gerade auch in Kombination mit einem guten Tonic Water ist der Orangengeschmack herrlich und passt perfekt.

    Ich würde diesen Gin als eher „weich“ und „mild“ bezeichnen, der aber geschmacklich wirklich hervorragend ist und definitiv mit zu meinen Favoriten zählt!

    Ein wirklich anderer Gin durch den Zusatz von Blutorangen. Er überzeugt mich durch die fruchtig-frische Note und seinen milden Charakter. Als Gin Tonic absolut zu empfehlen und richtig gut!

In diesem Fall hat Fentimans eine Kombination von valencianischen Orangen und Zitronen-Thymian gewählt, um das Tonic Water zu aromatisieren. Durch die Zugabe der Orangenanteile ist dieses Tonic Water leicht orange/gelblich gefärbt und sieht somit sehr ansprechend aus. Verkauft wird es in den für Fentimans üblichen 200ml Glas-Flaschen.

    1905 wurde Fentimans von Thomas Fentimans in Hexam, Northumberland UK, gegründet. Ursprünglich mit Ginger Beer, aber inzwischen gehört Fentimans mit zu den führenden Herstellern von Filtern und Mixern. Die meisten Tonics dieses Herstellers sind nicht allzu süß, eher in Richtung würzig und herbal.

    Bei diesem Tonic Water sieht man schon rein optisch, dass es sich um etwas besonderes handelt – und so schmeckt es dann auch im Glas oder eben in Kombination mit einem schönen Gin. Geschmacklich kommt die Orange gut durch und ist sehr gut wahrnehmbar, was mir – gerade um einen Gin&Tonic eben mal etwas anderes zu genießen – sehr gut gefällt. Es ist angenehm frisch, aber eher weniger bitter, was vermutlich auch an den Orangen liegt.
    Die Kohlensäure ist relativ starkt ausgeprägt und das finde ich persönlich sehr gut, da es bei mir gerne was mehr sprudeln darf im Drink.

    Ich kombiniere dieses Tonic meistens mit einem neutraleren Gin, um die Aromen des Tonic Waters nicht zu überdecken. Es passt aber auch durchaus gut zu aromatischeren Gins, welche selber noch durch die Botanicals eine weitere Geschmacksnote mit einbringen. Hier muss jeder einfach selber ausprobieren und entscheiden.

    MEIN FAZIT ZU DIESEM TONIC

    Ein weiteres spannendes und sehr leckeres aromatisiertes Tonic Water mit angenehmer Orangen-Note und schöner Kohlensäure. Passt gut zu neutralen Dry Gins, oder aber auch in Kombination mit aromatischeren Gins, wie Z.B. Marula Gin.

    • ]]>     1451     Tonic Water – LE TRIBUTE http://gin-und-tonic.de/tonic-water-le-tribute/ Sun, 04 Aug 2019 17:23:08 +0000 http://gin-und-tonic.de/?p=1440 Auch dieses Tonic habe ich in Belgien zum ersten mal gesehen und kennengelernt, in Deutschland im Geschäft habe ich es noch nicht gesehen, man kann es aber durchaus im Online-Handel bestellen und so bekommen.
    Die Flaschen sind im auffälligen, viereckigen Design (Jugendstil), ebenso wie es auch die Flasche des Le Tribute Gin ist.

    Ein weiteres sehr spannendes Tonic Water, welches ich bereits probiert habe, ist das Tonic Water von „Le Tribute“, das – wie der gleichnamige Gin – in Spanien in der Nähe von Barcelona produziert wird.

    Dieses Tonic überzeugt mich durch seinen frischen Geschmack, bei dem Aromen von Zitrus und Grapefruit durchkommen, aber auch eine gewisse Bitterkeit enthalten ist – für mich wichtig bei einem guten Tonic. Besonderheit hierbei: auch eine leichte Note von Rosmarin ist durchaus wahrnehmbar und macht dieses Tonic somit zu etwas Besonderem.
    Die Kohlensäure ist etwas stärker ausgeprägt, was mir sehr gut gefällt.

    Ich kombiniere dieses Tonic meistens mit einem neutraleren Gin, es passt aber auch durchaus gut zu aromatischeren Gins, welche selber noch durch die Botanicals eine weitere Geschmacksnote mit einbringen.

    Meine Lieblings-Kombination für einen Gin & Tonic mit diesem Tonic Water: Le Tribute Gin

    MEIN FAZIT ZU DIESEM TONIC

    Ein tolles, aber etwas außergewöhnlicheres Tonic Water. Pur auf den ersten Schluck schmeckt es erstmal gar nicht unbedingt wie ein „klassisches Tonic“, kombiniert mit einem guten Gin aber schmeckt es richtig gut. Passt perfekt zum gleichnamigen Gin „LE TRIBUTE“
