Der erste Blick auf die Falsche verrät hier schon, dass es sich um einen besonderen und „anderen“ Gin handelt. Meine Flasche habe ich im Urlaub in Salzburg günstig erstanden.

Dieser Gin kommt aus Südafrika und wird dort in der Karoo Halbwüste in der Six Dogs Destillerie hergestellt. Die verwendeten Botanicals (unter anderem Pelargonie, Luzerne, Geranien, Naartjies und Koriandersamen) werden zum Großteil auf der Farm selber angebaut.
Neben dem wundervollen Geschmack sticht dieser Gin durch seine intensiv blaue Farbe hervor; diese Farbe wird durch die blaue Klitorie (Clitoria Ternatea) erreicht. Wird Tonic hinzugegeben, verändert sich die Farbe Richtung rosa.
Alkoholgehalt: 43% vol.

Botanicals (laut Hersteller): Wacholder, Pelargonie, Luzerne, Geranien, Naartjies und Koriandersamen

Dieser Gin ist geschmacklich schwer zu beschreiben, da er „anders“ schmeckt als klassische Gins. Insgesamt kann man ihn als intensiv, fruchtig/blumig und elegant beschreiben.

Ich kombiniere diesen Gin gerne mit milderen Tonics, wie beispielsweise dem FEVER-TREE Mediterranean Tonic Water – hierdurch kommen die Aromen des Gins besser zur Geltung.

MEIN FAZIT ZU DIESEM GIN

Ein toller und spannender Gin, optisch ein Highlight im Glas und geschmacklich eine Bereicherung für meine Sammlung.
